Program Overview
Our Process
Our Philosophy
Our kittens are individually priced based on overall quality, structure, temperament, pedigree, and alignment with our breeding goals. We do not use a fixed price for all kittens, as quality naturally varies within each litter and across different pairings.
Most kittens range from $3500–$5000, with pricing determined individually.
While every kitten receives the same level of care and dedication, some display especially strong overall type, expression, balance, temperament, and pedigree combinations that place them above the general range of their litter.
Occasionally, kittens that stand out for exceptional type, expression, and pedigree may be priced higher to reflect their quality.
We are intentional in our pairings and selective about which kittens are retained within our program, with the goal of producing consistently correct, healthy, and well-tempered British Shorthairs that reflect the breed standard.
All of our cats come from Champion (or higher) bloodlines and are registered with The International Cat Association (TICA). Our breeding cats are from carefully selected European lines and are screened for genetic conditions, including PKD.
Kittens come with:
1-year health guarantee with a spay/neuter contract
Precautionary deworming
Microchipping
Raw food tray if you’re within driving distance (or bring a cooler!)
Trupanion pet insurance for their first month home (excluding NY)
Home scented blanket
Go-home care package
Detailed go-home guidance
Lifetime breeder support
All kittens are eligible for TICA registration. Registration paperwork is completed after spay/neuter and offered to owners once finalized.
If you are flying in, we are happy to meet at BNA airport at no additional cost. Flight nanny options are also available upon request.
Waitlist Process
Families interested in reserving a kitten should begin by submitting a kitten application.
We receive a high volume of inquiries and thoughtfully match families based on timing, preferences, temperament goals, and overall fit within our program. The more detail you share within your application, the more helpful we can be in guiding you through the process.
After our initial email exchange, families who wish to move forward will receive instructions to submit a $500 non-refundable reservation deposit. This deposit is applied toward the total purchase price of your future kitten and secures your place in selection order for upcoming litters.
Reservation Process
Kittens are typically introduced around 7–8 weeks of age. Waitlist families are offered first selection opportunities in the order deposits are received before any remaining availability is posted publicly.
We take care to match each family with a kitten suited to their home, lifestyle, and preferences, including color and sex where possible.
Kittens develop personality through consistent environment and handling, and short in-person interactions do not typically reflect their long-term temperament. For this reason, placement decisions are based on ongoing observation and experience with each kitten throughout development.
Once kittens are ready for reservation, we create a private selection page with individual photos and descriptions for the waitlist. This page is shared directly with waitlist families in order of deposit, allowing a set viewing period for review, questions, and selection.
During this time, we work closely with each family to ensure a thoughtful and appropriate match.
Most kittens go home between 12–14 weeks depending on development, travel arrangements, and individual readiness.
Retirees
Retired or older cats are occasionally available and are listed directly on our Available page when they become ready for placement.
We do not ship kittens in cargo.
Most of our kittens travel home in-cabin on an airplane or are picked up in person.
We are located in Nashville, Tennessee (BNA – Nashville International Airport)
Personal Pickup
We encourage families to pick up their kitten in person whenever possible. Many choose to fly into Nashville and travel home with their kitten in-cabin. This is often the simplest and most personal option.
We are happy to meet at BNA airport or nearby to make pickup as smooth as possible.
Flight Nanny Service
If personal pickup is not possible, we can arrange delivery through an experienced flight nanny. Your kitten travels in-cabin with a professional courier for the duration of the journey.
Flight nanny arrangements are coordinated on a case-by-case basis and include:
• Courier fee
• Round-trip airfare
• Airline pet carry-on fee
• Ground transportation to/from BNA
• Airline-approved carrier
• Required veterinary health certificate (if applicable)
Total costs typically range from $1,300–$2,000 depending on destination and timing.
International Homes
While we do not ship internationally, we have successfully placed kittens with families outside the United States through approved travel arrangements. International placement is handled on a case-by-case basis.
Health Certificates
A veterinary health certificate is only required if mandated by your airline. If needed, this must be requested in advance so the appointment can be scheduled appropriately. Most domestic flights within the contiguous United States do not require one.
We understand that purchasing a kitten is an important decision, and we encourage families to do their own research when selecting a breeder.
Royally British Cats has an established public history through our website and social media platforms, where you can view years of past litters, cats, and program updates.

We are registered with The International Cat Association (TICA), and our cattery name and involvement can be verified through official TICA resources. Our breeding cats are also actively shown in TICA events. We maintain a consistent public presence within the cat show and breeder community, and our program can be independently verified through multiple public channels.

We encourage families to take their time, review information, and feel confident in their decision before moving forward. Transparency and clarity are important to us throughout the process.
All kittens and retired cats are placed under a written contract.
The contract is a standard legal agreement designed to protect both the kitten and the new family, and to ensure our cats are placed in safe, responsible homes.
A signed contract is required prior to final payment and pickup. Deposits indicate agreement to these terms.
Key terms include:
• No declawing
• Indoor-only homes
• No permanent caging or confinement
• Spay/neuter required by 10 months of age (or prior to going home, if arranged)
• No surrender to shelters or third parties (cats must be returned to us if rehoming is ever needed)
We remain responsible for every cat we produce and will always accept them back if a family is no longer able to keep them.
A sample agreement is available for review prior to placing a deposit. We encourage all families to read it carefully and reach out with any questions. Contract
