Our Favorite Things!
I've put together a list of our favorite products to share with our pet parents. Not all of them are "needed", but these are all items we actually use and recommend to get you and your kitty started!
Note - this is not everything we use either! If you have questions about other things or how to use these products, please reach out!
Supplements

Top Pick - Lysine Supplement
Best Pick - Great for overall immune support and tastes like chicken. Helps reduce risk of upper respiratory issues (like feline herpes) that are more common in BSH.

Lysine Treats
Another great lysine option to add along with the powder.

Vital Essentials Chicken Giblets
Great Treats! I get a lot of feedback that Giblets are a favorite but all the VE brand is awesome

BeneBac Probiotic
Great probiotic option to add to food. Good for upset tummies, during any stressful events, food transition, etc.

FortiFlora Probiotic
Great option for a probiotic. Good for upset tummies, during any stressful events, food transition, etc.

Dr Elsey's CleanProtien
Expensive, but great for very sensitive tummies who can't do raw.

Tiki Cat Raw
Good premade raw option if you want to continue with a raw based food. More widely available than some brands.
Litter and Accessories

Pine Pellet Litter
All of my cats leave having used Pine Pellet litter. We buy from Tractor supply, but this is the best alternative that pet parents have told me about. Easy to clean and less harmful than clay litter. (Also more environmentally friendly by far)

High Sided XL Litter Box with Lid
This is an appropriate size for a British Shorthair and has a removeable lid if you want to add it for some smell reduction. Some kitties don't like the lid (mostly the flap) but most don't mind.

2 Pack Metal Bowls
Dishwasher safe and great for raw and wet food. Metal bowls always preferred to avoid chin irritation from plastics.

High Sided Giant Litter Box
This is an appropriate size for a British Shorthair and is high sided for kitties who like to kick around the litter (most of them!)

Silicone Mat
I love these mats and use them under litter boxes and food trays. Cats are surprisingly messy eaters and this helps keep it all tidy. Dishwasher safe!

Bowls in Mat
Great for water and kibble you want to leave out. Dishwasher safe mat and bowls to wash easily.
Metal bowls always preferred to avoid chin irritation from plastics.
Metal bowls always preferred to avoid chin irritation from plastics.
Grooming and Hygiene

Eye wash pads
Great for cleaning out irritants and keeping eyes clean. BSH have flatter profiles and can have sensitive eyes from time to time.

Grooming Kit
Basic kit with some brush variations! The slicker is great for removing loose top coat.

Best Nail Scissors
Best scissors ever (if you decide against the kit!)

Natural Shampoo
Great for quick clean-up baths (think messy paws and bootys!)

Metal Tooth Comb
These are great for general grooming! They help with shedding to gently remove any clumping.

Terramycin Eye Ointment
Apply at the first sign of irritation. Helps with inflammation and keeps the eyes in great condition. Rx Only in California

Feliway Calming Kit
Mimics cat’s natural facial pheromones, which creates a calming environment and de-stresses your cat
Toys and Enrichment

Top Pick - Scratch and Roll
This is always a crowd favorite. Between the (replaceable) cardboard scratcher and the jingle ball- I would suggest this for every cat to try. Even my "less playful" will usually give this a go!

Cat Tunnel
This is my favorite tunnel. I've tried many and they don't hold up nearly as well against crazy kitties as this one.

Wire Teaser Toy
If I could only pick one teaser toy- it would always be this one. For whatever reason it is super fun for the cats. I think the unpredictability of the wire makes it more stimulating and I like that you can change out the toy with new ones!

Top Pick - Sponge Balls
A top toy among almost all of the cats are these little sponge balls. They're super lightweight and the cats love to carry them around and keep themselves entertained

62" Cat Tree (Carpet Free)
Great larger tree with multiple platforms and spaces for kitties to relax. No carpet means easy to clean and keep sanitary. All beds are removable and washable. Top Pick

Toy Springs
Seemingly simple, these springs behave unexpectedly to cats and they love these things

Basic Fabric Teaser
Tried and true, kitties who like teasers in general always love these fabric ones.

Wall Scratcher
If you're okay attaching something to a wall, this is a GREAT option for kitties who like to scratch vertically.

Top Pick - Wide Cardboard Scratcher
Probably the best scratchers for nail health are these cardboard ones. Very gently helps keep the nails trimmed (so you don't have to!) Cardboard is double sided and replaceable.

33.5" Scratch Post
Larger (and heavier) post than some others and I find it doesn't move around as much which is good for cats who like to scratch vertically. Good option for deterring against your couch!

Catit Ball Toy
This is one that is very stimulating for higher energy kittens and cats. Easy to clean and generally really enjoyed

Activity Board/Feeder
Use this for treats or food for your kitty. Is a great way to provide mental stimulation and enrichment. Dishwasher safe and keeps them busy foraging for their snacks.

Kitten Ball Toy
Kittens and still playful adults like this toy. Easy to clean and multiple calls for stimulation.

Kitty Window Perch
Great window perch. I didn't think the suction could hold my bigger cats, but this thing held up for years. Definitely my preferred window perch
